KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who died last week from burn injuries following a grass fire east of Kearney.

The man has been identified as Christopher L. McKitrick, age 53, formerly of Colorado Springs, CO. 

Next-of-kin have been notified. An autopsy ordered by the Buffalo County Attorney’s Office was performed.

At this time, authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up victims last known whereabouts, cause of fire and subsequent burns. The circumstances remain suspicious and foul play has not been ruled out.
