GIPD investigating potential threat toward Barr Middle School
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Grand Island Police is investigating reports of a threat made on social media against one of the middle schools.
In a statement sent to Local4, Grand Island Public Schools said the administration is aware that rumors have been circulating around a claim that a potential harmful act may be targeted toward Barr Middle School.
“Ensuring safety for all students and staff within our schools is a top priority and we take all potential threats of this manner seriously,” the statement goes on. “At this time, we are working with the Grand Island Police Department (GIPD) to investigate the situation and handle the matter in swift legal fashion.”
The district said they would also like to express gratitude for the parents and students that helped bring this to their attention.
