Two from Adams Central, GICC make 2022 Nebraska GBB All-Showcase Team

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The 2022 Nebraska Girls Basketball All-Showcase team was announced on Monday after the event took place at Kearney High on Saturday. Eight different games took place between 16 teams in the second year of the annual tournament.

Adams Central senior guard Libby Trausch and junior forward Rachel Goodon represent Hastings after they led the Patriots to a 50-46 win over formerly undefeated Bridgeport, while Grand Island Central Catholic’s Gracie Woods and Lucy Ghaifan helped the Crusaders to a win over North Bend Central.

The rest of the All-Showcase team features:

  • Anselmo-Merna senior forward Jaide Chandler: Scored 25 points in a win over Cross County to claim the showcase individual scoring title.
  • Auburn senior guard Melody Billings: Scored 21 points in a 53-48 loss to Broken Bow.
  • Bridgeport sophomore forward Olivia Loomis-Goltl: Led the Bulldogs in scoring with 17 points in a 50-46 loss to Adams Central.
  • Bridgeport junior forward Ruthie Loomis-Goltl: Scored 16 points in a 50-46 loss to Adams Central and joined her sister, Olivia, on the All-Showcase team.
  • Broken Bow senior guard Kailyn Scott: Scored 17 points in a 53-48 win over Auburn.
  • Clarkson-Leigh sophomore forward Chloe Hanel: Set a showcase record nine two-point field goals in a 47-36 win over Grand Island Northwest.
  • Clarkson-Leigh senior guard Kennedy Settje: Scored 21 points in a 47-36 win over Northwest.
  • Kearney senior guard Kierstynn Garner: Led the Bearcats in scoring in a 39-32 win over York.
  • North Bend Central senior guard Syndey Emanuel: Scored 15 points in a 45-37 loss to GICC.
  • Oakland-Craig junior forward Chaney Nelson: Scored 16 points in a 55-42 win over Sidney.
  • Oakland-Craig junior forward Sadie Nelson: Scored 17 points in a 55-42 win over Sidney.
  • York senior forward Masa Scheierman: Recorded a double-double with 13 points and a showcase record-tying 14 rebounds in a 39-32 loss to Kearney.

According to the showcase’s official Twitter page, there will be more additions to this roster and we will update this story accordingly.
