KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The University of Nebraska-Kearney women’s basketball team dropped seven spots in the NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll rankings that were released on Tuesday.

UNK was No. 9 last week, but lost to unranked Central Missouri 58-52 at home on Saturday. The 12-2 Lopers are now 16th nationally. The Jennies remain unranked and received zero votes.

“It’s one of those games where if you miss layups and don’t make free throws against a good team you’re going to have a hard time winning,” UNK coach Carrie Eighmey said after the loss. “It’s pretty simple.”

In the loss, the Lopers saw their 11-game win streak come to an end and dropped their first home game of the year after starting unbeaten in seven tries at the Health and Sports Center.

UNK heads on the road to play Missouri Western State (12-1, 6-1) and Northwest Missouri State (11-2, 6-1) this weekend.
