WOOD RIVER, Neb. (KSNB) - Store clerks and customers had to evacuate a truck stop for a couple hours Thursday morning because of a bomb threat.

Hall County Sheriff Rick Conrad told Local4 the threat was reported just after 9 a.m. Thursday at the Pilot Travel Center just south of the Wood River exit on Interstate 80. Conrad said a caller warned the truck stop that a bomb package was going to be delivered.

A package was in fact delivered and was examined by the State Patrol’s bomb squad. It was found to be harmless. Conrad said the package was a shipment of a product sold at the truck stop. The truck stop was declared safe and people were allowed back in shortly after 12:30 Thursday afternoon.

Conrad said there were no suspects as of Thursday afternoon, but that his office was still investigating.
