HOLDREGE, Neb. (PRESS RELEASE) - Individuals can experience Ireland from the comfort of their home through “Virtual Experience: Narratives of Ireland,” a self-paced and interactive online course designed by the Institute of Study Abroad Ireland in association with Central Community College.

The course will be available Feb. 1 through April 15 and will span the disciplines of history, literature, social justice, environment and sustainability, business, politics, social studies and leisure. Topics will include colonization, displacement, emigration, civil rights movements, conflict resolution and peace building.

“All these events provide us with excellent material for comparative and critical thinking about ourselves; our community; and our own past, present and future,” said Diana Watson, CCC international studies coordinator. “This program is perfect for anyone who wants to enhance their cultural competency and become a global scholar.”

Students must be 16 years or older. They may choose between the personal enrichment course for $79 or the professional development course for $99. For more information or to register, visit cccneb.edu/Ireland or email holdregeinfo@cccneb.edu.
