Hundreds of illegal opioid pills found in Grand Island man’s apartment
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A drug overdose led police in Grand Island to find hundreds of opioid pills and other drugs.
The incident happened on Sunday in the 300 block of Hedde Street.
Police said they were called to assist in an apparent opioid overdose. While on scene, police saw marijuana in plain sight. Upon further investigation police discovered 450 pills that appeared to be oxycodone, as well as other pills believed to be amphetamine, as well as meth, other drug paraphernalia, materials for distribution, and over $15,000 in cash.
Police arrested Zakaria Hassan, 29, on numerous felony drug charges including possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (Oxycodone), possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (meth), possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (marijuana), possession of a controlled substances (Amphetamine), possession of drug money, no drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said the other the male victim on scene was revived and was able to assist police.
