Northwest boys basketball beats competition in Top 5 Plays

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Grand Island Northwest boys basketball took top honors in this week’s edition Local4 Top 5 Plays on Sunday.

  1. Northwest boys basketball hosted Adams Central on Friday night. Vikings’ Trevyn Keene launched a shot attempt from beyond half court at the buzzer that swished through for the 3-pointer.
  2. Superior girls basketball took on Hastings St. Cecilia on Tuesday. Ole Miss volleyball commit Shayla Meyer blocked a shot attempt from Concordia volleyball signee Addie Kirkegaard and corralled the miss before running the fastbreak and hitting a midrange pullup.
  3. The Tri-City Storm hosted the Des Moine Buccaneers on Sunday. Storm forward Cole O’Hara wristed a shot past the Bucs’ keeper to give Tri-City a 2-1 lead in the game.
  4. Central City boys basketball took on Wood River on the road Friday. Dylan Pfeifer and Kenai Kearney connected on a give-and-go pass that resulted in a Bison layup.
  5. Northwest girls basketball hosted Adams Central on Friday. Vikings’ senior guard Rylie Rice hit a pullup three in a defender’s face en route to scoring her 1,000th career point in the game.
