HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - There will be at least one new member of the Hastings City Council next year.

Ward Two councilman Ted Schroeder announced at Monday night’s meeting that he would not be running for re-election. Schroeder told the council that he was proud of some of the accomplishments that impacted the west Hastings district, including renovation of the old Imperial Mall property, a new stoplight near Hastings Middle School, and new activity at the Hastings Airport.

Schroeder’s term runs through the end of this year. Ward Two’s other councilman is Butch Eley. The Adams County clerk’s office told Local4 Tuesday morning that so far, no one has filed for Schroeder’s seat on the council. The filing deadline for non-incumbents is March 1.
