HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - As the race for governor continues one issue continues to take top priority, quality broadband.

According to broadbandsearch.net 3% of Nebraskans don’t have wired internet access available to them.

Whether at forums or campaign events, all the candidates vying for the office of governor have made broadband access a top talking point.

Republican Breland Ridenour told Local4 News good broadband access is crucial to the future of the state.

“If we want to grow Nebraska we have got to get broadband throughout the entire state,” Ridenour said “The problem is, especially since I am a tech guy, our current plan to get broadband is, I fear, inefficient, is incomplete.”

Ridenour also questions the sustainability of that current plan and the accountability behind it.
