HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Nebraska football senior offensive analyst Ron Brown was in Hastings on Sunday afternoon speaking at Hastings College. Local4 Sports caught up with him for an update on where the Huskers’ quarterback competition stands as the Red-White scrimmage nears this Saturday.

“They’re good,” Brown said. “In terms of just being able to see what’s going on, how they respond to different things. So much with a quarterback, and really every position, is what’s under the hood. It isn’t just how far a guy can throw, how strong his arm is, his legs. It’s also his mind, his heart, his leadership qualities. What’s under the hood for the quarterback is huge.”

When asked who is winning the battle for the open starting spot at this point, Brown said he leaves those decisions to offensive coordinator Mark Whipple and coach Scott Frost and that people can “keep guessing on that.”
