HPS approves pay raise for classified staff, renews superintendent contract

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - In unanimous 8-0 votes, the Hastings Public School Board approved raises for all classified staff in the district, as well as a contract renewal with HPS Superintendent Jeff Schneider.
The new contract for Schneider will pay him just shy of $250,000 annually over the course of his new contract.
As for the staff pay raises, it’s a district-wide increase of 4.25%, which will cover all non-teaching staff members. All bus drivers will also be getting a $2 per hour increase to their pay starting in the 2022-23 school year. The rest of the district’s classified staff will see an extra $1 per hour in the Fall.
