OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) - The Tri-City Storm entered Friday night just one point away from winning the Anderson Cup, which goes to the regular season champs of the league. You could tell the Storm knew what was on the line by their physical play early and often.

Tri-City’s Ilya Nikolaev issued a punishing hit to an Omaha forward early in the first period, and that physicality turned into offense in short order. The puck was bouncing around a bit in the Omaha zone, but Graham Gamache got a stick on it and sent the puck to the back of the net to put the Storm up 1-0.

In the second period, the Storm padded their lead with a power play goal from Dane Dowiak to make it 2-0, and they didn’t look back from there en route to the 6-2 win.

The Tri-City Storm are now your Anderson Cup Champions for 2022. Now the team is setting its sights on the Clark Cup.
