Near record high temperatures as we head toward mid week

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Happy Mother’s Day and good Sunday evening! Skies will become mostly cloudy overnight with gradual clearing by sunrise with sunny skies to start your Monday. Lows tomorrow morning will be warmer off to the south and east in the mid 60s. Cooler out west with lows in the 40s out near Sidney and Scottsbluff. With sunny skies expected for the day tomorrow and strong southerly flow, temperatures will easily find their way into the mid 80s in the central part of the state, but much warmer to the southeast where we could see record highs in the mid 90s. Winds will be breezy out of the south southwest between 15 to 25 mph, shifting later in the day out of the west northwest.

A cold front will push through the region during the day Monday which will usher in slightly cooler air for Tuesday. Highs on Tuesday will range from around 70° northwest to around 90° southeast. Even warmer and more humid conditions are anticipated on Wednesday and Thursday. Highs on Wednesday will range from the mid 80s northwest to the mid 90s south. It won’t be quite as warm on Thursday will upper 70s northwest to the lower 90s southeast. Each day Wednesday through Saturday will have a chance for showers and thunderstorms.
