HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Clearing skies this evening will make way for good viewing conditions for the Super Flower Blood Moon total eclipse that will start around 8:25pm this evening and run through 1:55am Saturday morning. The maximum eclipse will occur right around 11:11pm where you will notice a faint blood red moon as the only light to shine on the moon will have to pass through Earth’s atmosphere giving it that orange red hue. Mostly clear skies overnight with light winds will allow temperatures to fall into the upper 40s and low 50s Monday morning.

After a cooler day Sunday temperatures will warm up on Monday under sunny skies. Highs Monday afternoon will range from low 80s east to the mid to upper 80s west. Our next best chance of seeing some liquid moisture comes Monday night as another disturbance moves through the region.

More rain chances again Tuesday night with the possibility of some more severe weather. Right now the storm prediction center has much of the southern half of the state in a Slight Risk category for scattered strong to severe storms Tuesday afternoon and evening. The main threats at this time look to be damaging wind gusts and possible large hail. Breezy through Friday. Hot Thursday with highs launching into the upper 80s to low 90s. Cooler days to end the week out Friday and Saturday with temperatures in the 60s.
