OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) - After beating #1 Norris to keep their season alive, the co-op of Central City/Fullerton/Centura found itself in another win or go home game against #7 Elkhorn Tuesday afternoon.

Bosten Caspersen got the start on the mound for the Kernels, but Chase Smith from Elkhorn started the scoring with an RBI single off of Caspersen on a fielder’s choice play. Shortly after, Connor Hunt knocks in another run for Elkhorn to open up a 2-0 Antler lead.

Then, the Kernels got going. Bryce Gorecki found an opening and legged out a stand-up double, and of course he showcased some jazz hands after that. Then, with runners on the corners, Ashton Gragg was at the plate, but Elkhorn dropped strike three, which allowed a Kernel run to cross the plate. That narrowed the deficit to 2-1, and it was all Kernels after that.

They knock off Elkhorn 8-2 and advance to another win or go home game at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Elkhorn North.
