OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) - All of the 2022 State track and field champions have been crowned for Classes A and B. As attentions turn toward Classes C and D on Thursday and Friday, Local4 is reflecting on which area athletes took home gold medals in the first two days.

Adams Central’s Breck Samuelson achieved the Class B boys high jump gold medal on Wednesday with a clearance of 6-foot-8. He was the only jumper to clear that height in the field.

“My mind was just racing,” Samuelson said. “I was pretty nervous, just knew I had to give it everything. Just ending it on a high note. That’s obviously what everybody wants to do. It’s really just a blessing that I got to do that.”
