After a sunny Sunday, clouds and showers move in on Monday
May 22, 2022 - Overnight forecast
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Mostly cloudy skies becoming cloudy with showers filling in during the predawn hours Monday. Winds will be picking up overnight out of the SE at 5 to 15 mph. Low temperatures tomorrow morning in the upper 30s and low 40s out west to the upper 40s and low 50s east.
Showers will be sticking around all day Monday. It will be great day to get those indoor projects done. This should be a fairly widespread, slow, and steady rain that drops a quarter to half of inch of rain for much of the area. Because of the rain and clouds, this will likely be the coolest day of the week with highs in the low to mid 50s for most, some eastern areas seeing the low 60s and a few places struggling to make it out of the 40s in central areas.
Rain chances will carry over to Tuesday and Wednesday for parts of the area as another trough moves up from the south. Rain chances will gradually diminish as we head toward midweek. With clouds still fairly thick, but a lower chance of rain, temperatures should be a little warmer. Highs on Wednesday will mostly be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Look for more low to mid 60s on Wednesday. Sunshine returns Thursday and temperatures warm up a bit more on Thursday as highs get back to the 70s. Even warmer temperatures are anticipated for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
