OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) - All of the 2022 State track and field champions have been crowned for Classes A and B. As attentions turn toward Classes C and D on Thursday and Friday, Local4 is reflecting on which area athletes took home gold medals in the first two days.

McCook’s Branson McDonald cleared 15-feet in the Class B boys pole vault to win the gold medal in the event. It is the second year in a row that a Bison has won the State championship in this event.

“That feels pretty dang cool that we did it two years in a row,” McDonald said. “That’s great. That feels amazing knowing that my name is going to be in the record book at McCook High School. It’s great. McCook High School is one of the best high schools I could ever think of.”
