OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) - The 2022 State Track and Field championships is officially complete. Classes C and D finished up Saturday and Local4 is reflecting on which area athletes took home gold medals.

Superior’s Ella Gardner earned the gold medal in Class C girls long jump Friday with a leap of 18′0.75″ before adding a triple jump gold medal Saturday with an effort of 37′3.25″.

“My best jump was in the prelims, so that was nice to get a good jump down first,” Gardner said after her long jump win. “And then to be able to build from there, having a good one and then being able to just cruise through the finals — it’s incredible. I broke the Class C record earlier this year, so that was nice. To be able to come here and win State and not mess it up is really nice.”
