Warming up and drying out
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - As an upper level low works it’s way east out of Kansas, showers will continue this evening and overnight, mainly in Eastern Nebraska, but could get a bump and advance farther west toward the Tri-Cities later tonight. That would be conditional on overcoming some drier air and the track of th exiting low. Any precipitation would be fairly scattered in nature and light, though southeastern areas, east of a York to Hebron line, could see an additional half to three quarters of an inch before the rain ends Thursday by Thursday afternoon.
As the rain ends tomorrow, the clouds will move east as well, allowing the sun to do its work in drying us out. Temperatures will respond in kind warming into the low to 60s, 70s and lower 80s from east to west.
We’ll tack on another 10 to 15 degrees to the highs on Friday, as temperatures push into the 80s and 90s.
The Memorial Day Weekend will see temperatures continue to climb with upper 80s on Saturday with low 90s to the west. Then on Sunday the 90s will spread into the Tri_Cities area. Memorial Day itself looks sunny and warm with upper 80s to lower 90s for highs.
The weather will be somewhat unsettled for the weekend with chances for thunderstorms most of which will be to the north and west of the Tri-Cities until Tuesday and Wednesday where more widespread coverage is expected.
