Fillmore Central’s Schademann gets third at Class C State Golf Tournament
COLUMBUS, Neb. (KSNB) - Fillmore Central’s Alexander Schademann is a bonafide athlete.
The Class C 132-pound State Champion in wrestling this season, Schademann was also the lone Panther to qualify for the Class C State boys golf tournament at Elks Country Club in Columbus this year. And he made the most of his opportunity to compete with the best-of-the-best.
Schademann finished with Columbus Scotus sophomore Nick Fleming in a two-way tie for third overall with a +12 across the two-day tournament. He is just a junior and found himself alone atop the leaderboard at various points on the back nine of the second day.
“We couldn’t qualify as a team this year, and that sucked, but to be able to come out here and put a Fillmore Central placer up on the board, it was great,” Schademann told Local4 Sports.
The culmination of years of hard works resulted in a bronze medal and Schademann has one more year to potentially finish higher on the podium in 2023.
“I can’t thank the guys at the golf course enough at our home course,” Schademann said. “Ever since I was a little kid they practically saw me grow from a little tyke to where I am now, so it’s good to be able to do that for them.”
