LEXINGTON, Neb. (KSNB) - In just his first season as head coach of the boys soccer program at Lexington, Joel Lemus was named the 2022 Nebraska Coaches Association Boys Soccer Coach of the Year Friday.

“It is my pleasure to announce that Lexington High School’s men’s soccer coach, Joel Lemus, has been selected by Nebraska’s High School Soccer Coaches to receive the Nebraska Coaches Association 2022 Boys Soccer Coach of the Year!” Lexington Public Schools Athletic Director Phil Truax said in a statement.

Lemus led the Minutemen to their second straight Class B State runner-up finish this past season after serving the last three years as an assistant coach for the program. Before that, he spent six years as an assistant at Crete.
