Kearney Catholic star Mahony signs with UNK men’s basketball

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - UNK men’s basketball announced the signing of Kearney Catholic guard Brett Mahony, who committed to the program in December of 2021, Tuesday.
The listed 6-foot-4 Mahony helped lead the Stars to the Class C1 State semifinals this past season, where they lost to Ashland-Greenwood.
According to Maxpreps, Mahony averaged 17.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game in his senior season with Kearney Catholic. He will now aim to help the Lopers in his freshman season, a team that went 11-17 last year.
