CAIRO, Neb. (KSNB) - When BigIron Auctions held its conference in May, the Centura FFA chapter was asked to volunteer to work it.

In return for their hard work, the auction house held an auction, with all proceeds going back to the FFA chapter.

In all, $15,000 dollars was raised, and a check was presented to the chapter on Wednesday.

For members of the club, it was a sight to see members of the community support them in their endeavors.

“I think it’s great that they like come out and support us,” said Centura FFA Historian Mia Stuffs. “They’re supporting everyone individually and as a chapter. It shows just how much they care about our activities other than sports.”

The club says they’ll use the funds for a trip to Indianapolis next year.

“We go and we do livestock judging and CDE events,” she said. “So we learn about one specific thing and we go and compete, and then we can make it to state and/or nationals.”
