HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A cold front has brought relief to most of the area as cooler and drier air has moved in. The exception this morning in far Southeast Nebraska. These area will see the cold front move through later this morning. Later this afternoon, those far southeastern edges of the Local4 viewing area might get some severe storms. It’s more likely that they will develop southeast of our area. Behind the front, the air is cooler and drier, but it will still be warm with highs in the 80s to near 90°. The warmest temperatures will be in the southeast. Along with the cooler clouds, many will see partly to mostly cloudy skies. Some light rain showers will be possible from southwest to northeast right through the middle part of the area. Rainfall amounts should be rather minimal. Some of the light rain may continue into this evening. Otherwise, look for partly to mostly cloudy skies. Low temperatures tonight will drop to between the mid 50s northwest to the upper 60s southeast.

Look for partly sunny skies on Wednesday with a little more sun north and a little more in the way of clouds in the south. There may be a few spotty showers later in the day and into the evening in far Southern Nebraska and Northern Kansas. It’ll be a very warm day with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lower 90s. Later tomorrow night into Thursday morning, a warm front will be lifting northward into the area. This will bring an increased chance of showers and thunderstorms, starting Thursday morning. Some severe storms will be possible by Thursday afternoon and evening. Temperatures may be a bit warmer on Thursday, but may depend on where the thunderstorms end up going. Highs look to range from the mid 80s east to the mid 90s west.

Friday will be the hottest day of the forecast with highs into the 90s. Some may get to around 100° in the south. A cold front will then come through Friday night, bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of those may linger into Saturday with the main chance in the morning. Highs on Saturday will be much cooler in the mid to upper 70s and lower 80s. Winds may be a bit on the stronger side at 15 to 25 mph. Sunday should turn out to be a fairly nice day under mostly cloudy skies. Highs will mostly be in the mid to upper 70s. It may warm just a bit on Monday will a little more sunshine with highs in the mid to upper 70s and lower 80s.
