Our Little Angels provides special support to the community
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Losing an infant or a pregnancy can be devastating for parents, families and communities. Now, there’s a nonprofit giving support to those impacted. It’s called ‘Our Little Angels.’
The group is ran by two mothers, Hayley Griess and Arryn George, who’ve experienced losses themselves. The two took their tragedies and turned them into a way to help people who’ve experienced the same.
“There’s no funding, there’s no support groups, there’s really nothing and there’s not a lot of people that understand that type of loss because it’s a lot different,” Griess mentioned.
Griess stressed that the pair really wanted a way to reach out to that community, to get those people together and let them know they are not alone.
‘Our Little Angels’ does events like 5K runs, Gala’s, and they’re currently busy with a raffle. Money raised from events like these help support family funding, which helps with medical expenses as well as funeral costs in relation to someone’s loss. Griess said the last thing someone needs to worry about while going through the loss, is the bill.
“One of our biggest things is if you’re going through something like this, the last think you need to do is worry about how you’re going to pay for a funeral or pay for those bills that helped you with your miscarriage or your D&C,” Griess said.
They also do a support group every second Sunday of the month at Dunkin’ Donuts in Hastings.
Currently, the raffle is for Nelly and Walker Hayes tickets. You can enter by donating to their cause. The drawing will happen on July 1. You can find more information on their Facebook page.
