Grand Island teens involved in hotel drug bust
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Three Grand Island teens are facing charges following a drug bust in a Grand Island hotel room.
On Tuesday, officers responded to the Rodeway Inn where hotel employees reported that a woman rented a room, but only boys were using the room.
According to Grand Island Police, when officers attempted to contact the occupants of the room, three boys, ages 15, 17 and 18, jumped out the window and ran away. Police said officers were able to catch up to the 18-year-old and ultimately able to identify all the boys involved.
Officers conducted a search of the hotel room and located 99 grams of marijuana and 66 tablets of oxycodone. Police said they also found stolen property related to a vehicle theft in Grand Island from the previous week.
The 17-year-old boy was found to have a Class II Felony warrant for his arrest. He was also referred for Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Obstructing a Police Officer and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.
Abraham Clemente, 18, was cited for Possession of Marijuana, less than 1 ounce and Obstructing Police Officer.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested on a Hall County Juvenile Detention Order.
Nicandra Regalado de Lara was identified as the renter of the hotel room. Regalado admitted she had knowledge of the 17-year-old boy’s warrant. Regalado de Lara was referred for Accessory to Felony & Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
