GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (Press Release) - With less than 50 days until the Nebraska State Fair, the organization is looking for hundreds of individuals to be represented across the 11-day event.

On a typical year, the Nebraska State Fair looks to volunteers for upwards of 12,000 hours of manpower before, during and after the fair. By way of helping hands and smiling faces, State Fair Volunteers are scattered throughout the fairgrounds in various roles that help to make the event successful.

Volunteer positions typically run in 4 hour shifts over the morning, afternoon, and evening hours. Out of a long list of opportunities, volunteers can pick the date(s) and time(s) that work best for them and can also select the area they feel would best suit their talents.

Positions for volunteers range vastly from hand stampers to bus riders, greeters to open class exhibit monitors, information booths to the kids’ zone and even special event facilitators. With some positions indoor and some outdoor, it ensures a place for everyone looking to volunteer.

The Nebraska State Fair aims to provide the greatest hospitality from the moment guests step foot on the campus – a mission that would be incomplete without volunteers from across the area.

If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering for the Nebraska State Fair, visit www.statefairvolunteer.org or call volunteer coordinator, Courtney Glock, at 308-382-9211.
