KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Two Rivers Public Health Department has increased its risk dial within the yellow “Moderate” level of risk during its latest update on Thursday, July 14.
Since June 16- July 14, 631 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in TRPHD. Weekly test positivity in TRPHD has remained over 13% for the past 7 weeks. The total number of COVID positive cases in TRPHD in the past week is over 183, the highest weekly incidence rate since February 2022.
40% of all COVID tests conducted at hospitals and clinics in the past week have been positive. Weekly test positivity rates in long term care facilities have risen steadily to almost 40% in the previous week.
As of July 13, 54% of the total population of TRPHD has received the minimum prescribed dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. About half of those fully vaccinated have received at least one booster, including 75% of those aged 60 years and over.
As of Wednesday morning, 1/2 of ICU beds in TRPHD were occupied. There is one pediatric admission for COVID-19 in the district. 70% of Medical/surgical beds in TRPHD are currently occupied.
TRPHD is operating a public COVID testing site at the TRPHD office in Kearney 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., Mondays and Wednesdays. Those interested can register at https://login.registermytime.com/tw/2rphd.
TRPHD is distributing free COVID-19 test kits from the office daily.
TRPHD offers COVID-19 vaccines through office and mobile clinics. TRPHD nurses will also offer COVID-19 vaccines at local county fairs, for a full schedule see https://www.trphd.org/covid-19/event-calendar.html
For these reasons, the risk dial is raised compared to the previous week, but still within the ‘moderate risk’ (yellow) zone. The dial reflects a steady rate of new COVID cases detected and COVID-related morbidity events across the district, as well as the continued detection of new cases in specific counties in TRPHD
