HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Two Hastings residents are behind bars after a traffic stop Saturday evening.

Hastings Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 red Ford Focus in the 200 block of North Burlington Avenue at 8:59 p.m. Saturday.

HPD Cpl. Nathan Hanson told Local4 News, Brendan Denman, 28, of Hastings, was the driver of the Focus. Denman was said to have been pulled over for reckless driving and driving under suspension.

During the stop, approximately 1.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine was uncovered on the body of Kimberly Buss, 33, of Hastings, who was a passenger in the Ford Focus.

Denman was arrested for willful reckless driving and for driving under suspension. Buss was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Both Denman and Buss are lodged in Adams County Jail.
