Three injured in I-80 crash Monday near Aurora

AURORA, Neb. (KSNB) - A multi-vehicle car crash near a construction zone on Interstate 80 injured three people and closed the east-bound lanes for awhile Monday afternoon.
The Nebraska State Patrol said the accident happened around 1 p.m. Monday two miles east of the Aurora exit. Traffic had slowed near a construction zone when a pickup entered the area and struck multiple vehicles. Four vehicles were involved, including three passenger vehicles and a tow-truck hauling a trailer.
Three people were injured in the crash. Two have been treated and released from the hospital. Another person has been life-flighted with serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
The east-bound lanes of I-80 between the Phillips and Aurora exits were closed while the accident scene was cleared.
The roadway was opened around 3 p.m., but as of late Monday afternoon troopers remained on scene to assist with traffic flow into the construction area.
