Health care workers honored with discount at Barn Festival shops
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Health care workers are being recognized at the Barn Festival this week for all of their hard work and service to their communities.
They were able to receive 15% off their purchase on Monday inside the shops on the Barn Festival grounds. But the discount doesn’t end there — it’s returning again Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and “The Big Pig” food truck will be on site serving up dinner.
Customers can also receive a free product with their purchase and a chance to win a $50 gift card to KD Mercantile.
Owner Kara Parde told Local4 News, she offered up a similar deal to educators a couple weeks ago and wanted to do the same for health care works after seeing success the first time around.
“We did one for teachers a couple weeks ago, before they got busy with back to school, and it was a huge success,” Parde said. “We… watched license plates and then we asked them where they were from — they came from Kansas, they came from North Platte, they came from a long ways away because they were just so appreciative of a discount and just to be, you know, acknowledged.”
She added, she wanted to offer up the deal to show appreciation to health care workers for their help getting us through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Parde has also been avidly planning for the Fall 2022 Barn Festival. This year, the event will be held Friday through Sunday from September 16 to the 25.
