Cirque Italia Water Circus in Grand Island this weekend

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Pairing a dramatic European style circus act with elements of water, the Cirque Italia show is coming to Grand Island this weekend.

Cirque Italia is known as a unique experience of water spectaculars integrated with dazzling jugglers, acrobats, high flyers and more.

The show is happening Aug. 4-7 at the Conestoga Mall parking lot.

Ringleader Alex The Clown, who comes from generations of circus performers says it’s an opportunity for families to escape and enjoy themselves.

“I think it’s nice to see all of the people getting into it. We don’t need the phone or Facebook or special effects. All the people come here and they forget about their phone. And they get into it and they love it,” he said.

Not only are there families in the crowd watching, but also performing, as a majority of the act is made up of families from across the globe.

“We are all families. We have father and sons doing acts. We have brothers doing acts. My wife and I do acts. So we like to say we’re families entertaining families.” said Alex.

Cirque Italia will be at the Conestoga Mall parking lot through Sunday night.
