HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - From a weather standpoint, the month hasn’t allowed us much relief from heat...... until now. It has been consecutive days in the lower 80s, and while Tuesday may be a bit warmer, temperatures will be close to the ‘norms’ for this time of year as we look at upper 80s in central areas to 90s west.

Temperatures through Friday will again push into the lower 90s in the Tri-Cities, but the real heat remains in western areas of the state. Eventually the hot weather will again return for the weekend with the mid 90s expected along with increased humidity, but right now we are not looking at the excessive heat indices we saw last week.

There is not much to talk about from a precipitation standpoint. Dry conditions appear to persist all week long for Central and Eastern Nebraska. A few thunderstorms could develop in the Northern Sandhills Tuesday, but it doesn’t appear the rain will hold together long enough to reach the Tri-Cities and areas south. For now the only chance for rain comes next Monday, and even then it will be a slight chance.
