HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Quiet weather will remain in the forecast through the weekend as an upper level ridge of high pressure continues to dominate the weather across the central U.S. This upper level feature will gradually break down as we go through the weekend allowing for a more active weather pattern beginning early next week. With that we will see rain chances return along with much cooler temperatures. As for today, a few low clouds scattered about the region this morning. These will burn off as the sun heats things up. Look for sunny skies today and similar temperatures to what we experienced yesterday as high temperatures once again breaking the the 90 degree mark. The warmer spots will be west of the Tri-Cities where high temperatures will reach the upper 90s and triple digits. Going into the overnight tonight mostly clear skies with lows tomorrow morning in the mid to upper 60s and a few spots around 70 degrees. Friday will be a bit breezier with south winds between 10 to 25 mph. Slightly warmer tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 90s most spots and triple digits more prevalent west of the Tri-Cities.

Hotter temperatures are expected this weekend. On Saturday, highs will reach the mid to upper 90s and lower 100s. Highs will be similar to that again on Sunday. Temperatures will then again come down a bit on Monday as more clouds enter the region with a cold front pushing south through the state. Monday’s highs will range from the upper 80s to the mid 90s as rain chances return early Monday morning. Rain chances will stick around for Monday and Tuesday nights. Highs on Tuesday will mostly be in upper 70s and lower 80s. Wednesday’s highs will firmly be in the upper 70s to mid 80s. Thursday will be similar with highs in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s.
