HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Since Wednesday we’ve put together a trifecta of 90+ degree temperatures in Central Nebraska and will be adding a couple more days before this hot weather pattern breaks down enough to allow for some cooler weather, and more importantly......some rain. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will climb into the low to mid 90s with a few areas in Southwest Nebraska through Northern Kansas in the 100s.

A weak front will settle south during the day Saturday then stall out over the area on Sunday separating the the 90s from the 100s. Humidity may be a bit more noticeable as moisture pools along the front but it’s not going to produce the oppressive conditions that prompt heat advisories.

A bit more sticky this weekend but not to advisory criteria.

Rain chances will be meager over the weekend, but early next week this stagnant weather pattern will gradually break down producing cooler temperatures and periodic rain showers. The more promising period for rain appears to be Monday night into Tuesday.
