HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Overcast skies this evening may thin out some, but as high pressure builds in and winds go light and variable, low level clouds and fog could develop overnight into early Wednesday.

The fog should, however, burn off rapidly and the skies should gradually clear by afternoon, allowing sunshine and a push for afternoon highs to return to the lower 80s.

Thursday an upper low tracking across the Dakotas will send a cold front through Nebraska. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible along the front late Thursday afternoon into the evening. The better chance for rain however, will be in those area of Northeast Nebraska closest to the low. Temperatures for the rest of the week through the weekend will remain below normal this time of year but comfortably in the lower 80s with only slight chances for rain mainly in Northern Kansas near a stalled front.

Below is are some of the better rain amounts from the last 24 hours in the Local 4 area.
