GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - There’s a way people can have fun at the Nebraska State Fair while also learning about education for the kiddos with ‘We Care For Kids’ set up inside the Nebraska Building.

According to officials with We Care For Kids people from around the state have visited their set-up to learn about the early childhood education possibilities in their area.

Officials also said their mission is not only important, but it’s also personal.

“As a parent myself, we want our children to be in a caring, loving environment and early childhood educators who are skilled in their profession really provide that to our children,” We Care For Kids Representative Kara Ficke said. “I’m sure a lot of people have heard it, but 90% of brain development happens in a child’s first five years of life.”

Ficke went on to say the majority of Nebraska counties don’t have enough childcare to support their communities.
