HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - If you were looking to get some Vitamin D this morning, you were out of luck as we had cloudy skies around to start the day. The clouds eventually burned off by mid afternoon giving way to mainly sunny skies this afternoon with temperatures ranging from the low 80s north to the mid 90s southeast. Winds this afternoon have been generally out of the northeast at 5 to 15 mph for most of us. The only exception was far southeast areas where you had southerly flow in place which gave you much warmer temperatures this afternoon. As we head into the evening and overnight you can expect mainly clear skies with easterly flow and temperatures falling into the mid 50s north to mid 60s south. Once again with very moist air at the surface, clear skies and generally light winds, we will see lots of low clouds along with patchy fog tomorrow morning.

A warm front will push through the region Monday morning with winds behind the front becoming southerly. This, along with a ridge of high pressure aloft, will make for hot days both tomorrow and Tuesday. High temperatures for tomorrow afternoon will range from the upper 80s north to the upper 90s south. Near record heat for Tuesday as high temperatures rocket into the low to upper 90s across the region. There is some relief on the way though as a strong cold front will be barreling its way south through the region Tuesday afternoon sometime. Behind it, temperatures will be falling dramatically with highs 60s and 70s both Wednesday and Thursday just in time to start the Autumn season. It will be mostly cloudy both Wednesday and Thursday as multiple waves aloft journey through the region. There will be chances with each of those disturbances Wednesday morning through Friday. Looks like we dry out going into next weekend with temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s Saturday and Sunday.
