Hall County Sheriff hiring
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hall County Sheriff’s Department is looking to hire at least one person, and on top of that they would like to create a hiring pool which they can pull from whenever they need the man power.
Chief Deputy Josh Berlie said, that pool is just another way they can keep the people of Hall County safe.
“We feel pretty good with where we are at now, but you never know when things are going to change we always try to be prepared if those changes do come, or if retirements come up, or if people leave and we’ll have to hire for that or people try to get out of law enforcement and go do a different career,” Berlie said. “So we feel pretty good where we are at now but we always want to stay on top of it.”
Hall County’s Board of Commissioners voted to raise the wages of the deputies in recent week, which Berlie said helps to retain deputies and hire new ones.
