HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - For most of the area one more warm and breezy day is on tap. The majority of the area will get highs back into the low to mid 80s. Winds will be quite breezy out of the south southeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. In western and northwestern portions of the Local4 viewing area, the slight chances of rain this morning will begin to pick up later today. We’ll then start to see the rain and isolated thunderstorm chance make a push eastward this evening and overnight, spreading into more of Central to Northeast Nebraska by tomorrow morning. Look for lows tomorrow morning mostly in the low to mid 50s.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue for the area as more of them push into Eastern Nebraska through the day. More showers and isolated thunderstorms could move in from the northwest as they pinwheel around an area of low pressure in Eastern South Dakota. After midnight, most of the rain will be done other than far Eastern Nebraska. There could still be a few wrap-around showers in far northeast Nebraska. The rest of us will see clearing skies going into early Wednesday morning. High temperatures on Tuesday will be much cooler for most of the area in the mid 60s to mid 70s. In far eastern parts of the area, highs could reach the low to mid 80s, but once rain moves in, expect temperatures to drop off. As skies clear up Wednesday morning, we’ll see lows in the mid to upper 40s and lower 50s.

Wednesday will be a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine. Highs temperatures will range from the lower 70s north to the upper 70s south. The next shot of cold air moves south into the area on Thursday. Highs will range from the mid 50s north to the mid 70s south. This front will bring an increase in clouds as well as some breezy north winds. Thursday night, rain chances will increase from the north. Meanwhile, colder air will lead to a chilly night. Lows by Friday morning could range from the upper 20s north to the upper 30s south. This could be cold enough that potentially a little snow mixes in with the rain. Rain could continue into Friday morning and possibly afternoon. It should clear out to the south later in the day. It’ll be a bit of a chilly day with highs mostly in the upper 40s and lower 50s. With clearing skies Friday night, it’ll be another cold one with lows in the low to mid 30s. Areas of frost could be possible.

After the cold start to our Saturday, we’ll see sunshine help warm things back up this weekend. Highs Saturday afternoon will be back up into the mid to upper 60s. It’ll be a bit warmer Sunday with highs in the upper 60s and low to mid 70s. We should continue to warm up for another day or two. Then there are signs of another drop in temperatures by the middle to end of next week.
