Trinity Lutheran Hosts Second Annual Fall Festival
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Fall festival season is upon us and Trinity Lutheran Church joined in on the festivities. Church officials hosted their second annual Fall Festival which included a church service, a guest speaker, live music and more.
At last year’s event, there were separate programs for kids and adults, but performing act Jennie Williamson and AriSon Records combined the two this year. Afterwards, kids were able to enjoy games and a pumpkin patch. In addition to that, a variety of food vendors were in attendance offering up a bite to eat.
“It’s a fun event for our faith and food, you know, you bring food here and just a fun faith filled event for the morning, for our neighborhood and then also for our congregation,” said Kari Benson, connections director for Trinity Lutheran Church.
Benson said they started up this event to give people a more pleasant experience at church activities, because mother nature tends to more favorable this time of year.
“We use to have Trunk ‘N Treat... we held that at the end of the month and in Nebraska the weather, as it gets further into October the weather it gets a little chillier and we still wanted to have an event here, outreach for our community and for our congregation and so we just thought this would be a good change,” said Benson.
Benson said she hoped this event brings attention to the Lutheran faith and those around them.
“I think it just brings some attention to our neighborhood and that we you know have a nice place to come and enjoy an event this morning and it brings some attention to our church I hope for our neighbors,” Benson said.
