In the Kitchen with Joe: Silver Dollar Bar

KENESAW, Neb. (KSNB) - Just two and a half months ago, Elizabeth Gomez and her husband took over ownership of the Silver Dollar Bar, after getting support from the community.

“We had all the locals telling us, encouraging us, ‘Buy the place. We would love to see you guys run this place,’” said Gomez. “Since day one they’ve been there. We have a lot of support from Kenesaw and it’s amazing. The community is amazing.”

Gomez and her husband aren’t strangers to Silver Dollar Bar, as they’ve worked there for the last year.

Serving up traditional bar food like burgers and fries, Gomez also likes to mix things up with some savory specials during the week.

“I like to try new things. We do Mexican Tuesdays, we do Wing Thursdays, so we kind of rotate on our specials for lunch and dinner. We try to switch it up every now and then,” explained Gomez.

If you haven’t checked out the Silver Dollar Bar, you’ll find that it’s the perfect place to not only grab food and watch sports, but enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere as well.

“It’s a friendly, family environment. We treat our people like family. Everybody that walks in the door, kids, we want them to feel welcomed.”
