In The Kitchen With Joe: ‘Stockmen’s Bar & Grill’
AMHERST, Neb. (KSNB) - When Nancy Gallaway took over as owner of ‘Stockmen’s Bar & Grill’ three and a half years ago, she fulfilled a dream.
“It’s been everything that I’ve imagined,” said Gallaway. “I am a part of a great community and I get to be a part of some amazing experiences. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings, we all become family here and I truly cherish that.”
The Amherst community has been extremely supportive of Gallaway and the restaurant, with loyal customers coming in daily to get their fill of delicious food.
“They opened their arms to us when we took over. They come in here regularly and they support us and I’m very active in the school and do fundraisers,” Gallaway explained. “They give to me and I give back to them. We need each other.”
When you visit the restaurant, you can expect some down-home, scratch style cooking that just might be some of the best in the Tri-Cities.
“[We make] anywhere from burgers, to sandwiches, to prime ribs on Friday and Saturday nights. We do an incredible chicken fried steak. It’s hand breaded and never frozen,” said Gallaway.
Stockmen’s is open Monday - Thursday from 7:30 am to 10 pm, Friday from 7:30 am to 1 am, and Saturday from 10 am to 1 am. You can visit their Facebook and Instagram pages, and they even have a TikTok account.
“If you’re looking for some real down-home cooking, something that you’re not gonna find anywhere else, I’d say come see us,” Gallaway said. “If you want to feel like you’re at home and every bite tastes like home and you want some good scratch cooking like momma used to do, this is your place.”
