The week ahead features some very nice weather with a little Thanksgiving hiccup
November 21, 2022 Morning Forecast
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The days leading up to Thanksgiving will mostly be very quiet and travel in the middle part of the country should not be an issue. Today will be a mainly sunny day, but with a few more cirrus clouds in Northern Nebraska. It might be a little bit cooler today than yesterday...especially up north. But with lighter winds than yesterday, it won’t feel too bad. Highs will range from the mid 40s north to the mid 50s south. The weather overnight will remain quiet with winds remaining under 10 mph. Skies will be clear in the evening with some upper level clouds rolling in from the west by tomorrow morning. Lows tonight will range from the mid 10s to the mid 20s. Tomorrow will be a mostly sunny day with more clouds in the morning than in the afternoon. It’ll be a bit warmer with highs from the lower 50s north to the upper 50s in the south. Tuesday night will be another quiet and clear night with lows from the upper 10s to the upper 20s. Wednesday will be another mild one with highs in the mid to upper 50s. There may be some increasing clouds in the afternoon.
The big question mark in the forecast continues to be Thanksgiving. It for sure looks to be chillier and quite blustery with a shot of colder air moving in from the northwest. There will be some strong northwest winds and temperatures look to top out in the 40s. The majority of forecast models continue to keep our area dry with moisture remaining to our south. One model has been more insistent on keeping a little bit of light rain and possibly snow in our area. So for now, the chances continue to look quite low. Even if there ends out being some moisture, impacts for now seem to be fairly minimal. Following Thanksgiving. the weather does look nicer into the following weekend. Friday sees highs back to between the upper 40s east and the upper 50s west. Saturday has the potential to be the nicest day with mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. It may be a little cooler then on Sunday with upper 40s and low to mid 50s. The winds do look to be a bit breezier over the weekend. Looking down the road a bit, we’ll be keeping an eye on the middle of next week for the next potential storm system to impact the middle part of the country.
