HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Renovations are continuing on the new 16th street YMCA in Hastings, with crews beginning the demolition process.
”The outside will look a lot different,” said CEO Troy Stickels. “[The inside} going to be kind of the same layout as it was before, but we’re adding on to it and trying to get a more efficient building that will serve the needs of the community for another 100 something years hopefully.”
There will also be some fun new programs for kids to enjoy, as they play at the Y.
”Having a renovated building, having a new space, we’re going to be able to do cooking classes in our new facility, art classes, Esports, things for kids we weren’t able to do before,” Stickels explained.
The YMCA will remain in its current building until they’re ready to move, but then Grace Life Church will move in to create a place of worship, as well as a school.
