In The Kitchen With Joe: ‘Sit N Bull Saloon’

GILTNER, Neb. (KSNB) - For the last four and a half years, John and Sherri Ditter have run the ‘Sit N Bull Saloon’ in Giltner. In that time, they’ve made tons of people happy with their delicious food.

“I have very good staff and the food is good,” said Sherri. “It’s home cooked meals and of course our pizza is known quite a ways away.”

The pizza has brought in regulars from around the village and surrounding towns, as well as folks from outside of Nebraska.

“We get support from here in town, all the way from York to North Platte and Lincoln,” said John. “Regulars come clear it out.”

“We’ve even had a bus load of people from Montana and North Dakota stop in,” added Sherri.

Not only do the Ditters serve up good food, they also are part of the GADC program, which welcomes new people to Giltner when they move into town. The Ditters donate a certificate for a free large pizza, for the new townsfolk to enjoy.

“They come in and we get to see them and meet them and know who’s moving into town. Into our little community,” explained Sherri.

Most of all, the Ditters are appreciative of the support they’ve received from the people of Giltner.

“It takes a village to raise a bar. We have good support, good customers like the one sitting over there. The people are awesome,” Ditter said.
