HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - For a large part of the area, today will be another nice day. The one issue will be some areas of fog and low clouds in southeastern parts of the area. This could potential hold temperatures down a bit in those locations. I expect a bit more sunshine this afternoon as clouds clear out. High temperatures later today will range from the lower 50s in parts of Southeast Nebraska to the lower 60s in the west and northwest. Later in the afternoon, a cold front will approach western parts of the Local4 viewing area. This cold front will then push east across the area overnight. Ahead of the front, there could be some areas of drizzle for Southeast Nebraska, but for most of us, we will just see increasing clouds as well as a shift to some brisk north northwest. winds. Lows tonight will drop into the upper 20s and lower 30s.

Thanksgiving will be a chillier day with blustery north northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts at times over 30 mph. Much of the day will be mostly cloudy, but recent forecast models have become more insistent on some clearing during the afternoon. If there could be enough sunshine, many could see highs in the mid to upper 40s. If it remains cloudy until the end of the end afternoon, highs may end up being in the low to mid 40s. Skies will then be clear Thursday night into Friday morning as lows drop into the upper 10s and lower 20s. Friday itself should turn out to be fairly nice day with plenty of sunshine. Highs will reach the mid to upper 50s.

We’ll see a pretty decent weekend around the area. Of the two days, Saturday will be the nicer day. Highs will range from the lower 50s both in the northwest and the southeast to the upper 50s in the southwest. It’ll be a fairly breezy day. While many will see plenty of sunshine, but in the southeast, there will be more clouds. There could even be some showers in Southeast Nebraska Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. Sunday will be cooler, but should still be fairly sunny. Highs will top out in the upper 40s and low to mid 50s.

Monday should still be fairly decent with a few more clouds. Temperatures will range from the upper 40s northwest to the mid 50s south. From there, colder air and a chance of rain and snow will return Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs on Tuesday could be wide ranging with a cold front passing through. Highs could be anywhere from the lower 20s northwest to the 40s in the southeast. Wednesday will mostly be 20s northwest and 30s southeast. Forecast models insist on a chance of rain and snow with this colder air. While we’re probably not looking at a significant snowstorm, some accumulating snow will be possible.
