HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - We are thankful that the Thanksgiving Day outlook won’t be impacting travel this year. Tonight a cold front will push out of Western Nebraska, shifting wind to the northwest and providing a small change to the mild temperatures we’ve been experiencing, but little else. Thanksgiving morning will be mostly cloudy, and the day will be cooler with highs staying in 40s and winds gusting in the 30 to 35 mph range.

The front will not encounter any appreciable moisture until it moves southeast of the Tri-Cities where there could be some areas of drizzle or pockets of fog, a few sprinkles or perhaps a brief morning shower.

For the rest of the holiday weekend, temperatures will warm back to the 50s for you Black Friday shoppers. But if your kicking back on the couch to watch the Huskers take on Iowa the forecast for kickoff in Iowa city is for temps in the mid 40s. The rest of the weekend will stay mild for folks heading back home. Highs on Saturday will climb into the mid 50s with a minor decrease in warmth on Sunday as highs level off in the upper 40s. The next chance of precipitation will come Tuesday night into Wednesday with a shot at some scattered snow showers.
